.i liked him because he created some amazing characters like indranath, srikanta, sabyasachi ,.+ his point of view, sense of humour, straight forwardness, practicality, observation of human nature, are all qualities worthy of praise. his literature was so practical with colloquial words but a beautiful presentation of bengali language.i just wonder whenever i read his novels-how could he understand the contemporary human mind[male,female,rich,poor,of all ages] so well?his books also contain aspects like religious unity,foreign dominance over india,but surprisingly he wrote such serious things in such a humourous, interesting, passionate, realistic ,and story like way.

My Fav Author> trivias-Sarat Chandra was a social reformist type author..,used to judge everything by practicality and not what the society says.he was straight forward-restless-tramp type adventurer,wrote against unjustices of contemporary indian society.could not bear the sight of sorrows of common people-he was involved in national freedom movement of india-he was a very proffessional writer beacause he was VERY poor and orphaned at a young age inheriting nothing except father's restless spirit and keen interest in literature making him a dreamer all his life.and.he had other talents like singing-acting in dramaloved playing chess.learnt french..he did not believe in superstitions,he was a thin tall man, often had illness-died of liver cancer[also had heart desiase] at the age of 62 after prolonged illness.he was no god himself and had bad habits[like smoking,drinking,etc] but he was a genius anyway-he is extremely popular in india mainly west bengal and bengalees.. He was a very mischievous child, and his teachers tolerated him only because he was too brilliant for his age. He joined hand with his equally unruly friends and formed a gang. They stole from farms and orchards, and shared the spoils with the needy.In his last days when he was asked to write his autobiography he said with characteristic straightforwardness, "I cannot write my autobiography. I am neither that truthful nor that courageous." And on one occasion when Rabindranath Tagore also made a similar suggestion, Sarat replied: " Gurudev! Had I known I would become such a great man, I would have lived a different sort of life.'

i have a hobby of writing smaller-lengthed novels.i have written full 2 novels in english.writen 3 un-finished ones-thinking how the ending can be done.and started another in bengali.

now,i must mention-for a week i have read bengali writer moti nandi's 4 novels in bengali [original] version-all on footballer's lives.- 'stopper', 'striker', 'ferrari', 'dol bodoler agey'[ means- before changing club].very interesting and as i love football-i found these unputdownable! the main characters- kamal,prasun,anupam,samiran-are so lively potrayed...bye.

NOW according to my prefferings i have ranked DETAILED storybook genres/such-[FICTION / NON FICTION]-- [MYSTERY ADVENTURE THRILLER] [COMEDY] [MORAL STORIES] [enjoyable AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL writing example-david copperfield,srikanta][HISTORICAL] [INSPIRING PATRIOTIC] [well written books AGAINST BAD SOCIAL CUSTOMS / AGAINST BAD POLITICS / ORTHODOX-NESS] (Any genre can be made lucrative by a genuinely good writer]
Similarly story endings also matter to me- [SURPRISING UNUSUAL STRANGE endings]- [SOME EVENT which SETTLE MATTERS IN THE END] [HAZY/VAGUE ENGING-reader gets to use imagination and guess what might have been the real ending]] [HAPPY ENDING-sometime feels like fairy tale] [TRAGIC ENDING-not bad story but we feel sad] [FUNNY ENDING] [A ENDING THAT WAS EXPECTED/GUESSED BY READERS BEFORE HAND where the suspense is not there]

i never liked poems,but history of how i started liking storybooks so madly is>aesop's fables was my first storybook,then read fairy tales,children's stories under mother's guidance.then after some years i was attracted to bengalee detective feluda's mysteries .from the 1st book i read of the series-i am a fan.then i read voraciously all the books written by feluda's writer-satyajit ray... and sukumar ray stories are also fun.and liked immensely.from then i started loving mysteries and read -nancy drew,hardy boys,some agatha christie.famous five,some secret sevens,.read school stories-malory towers,st.clares,etc.started harry potter series and though supernatural-liked them very much.[they are actually fairy tales-but VERY well plotted and written.i have read only one sherlock holmes-some how-i dont like it much.then jokes books,comedies,tintin comics, are also my fav.once i had read a lot of russian children's stories-[eng.version].in 8th grade i had taken to learning french,russian and astronomy.but it was short lived.but,above all i like sarat chandra chatterjee[1876-1938,indian writer of bengali novels,etc.].esp-pather dabi,srikanta,mejdidi,ramer sumati,bindur chele,balyasmriti,and lot others.bye.
